Evan Silver directs amazing new promo for MTV

June 6, 2008

mtv.jpgYou can often see the the future in television commercial directors by watching MTV for their in-house produced promos.

2 great examples of this are Aaron Stoller and Randy Krallman. Both directors have moved to successful commercial directing careers. Aaron is now represented by Backyard and Randy is represented by Smuggler.

MTV’s Evan Silver continues the tradition of great film making with MTV’s Americas Best Dance Crew promo “Action/Reaction”. Evans work really blows me away. I think your going to hear allot more from this guy in th near future. You can check out more of Evans work here. www.evansilverps.com

Faceless mediocre dancers? Rotating camera? Less than one-second shots? Not in the least bit original, not to mention “amazing”. While I normally agree with the Monkey, on this one, I most definitely do not. Monkey, it’s okay to be wrong sometimes…just don’t let it happen too often. Next thing ya know, you’ll be digging on M. Night Shamalamadingdong movies.

This spot rocks!! I had to watch it a few times just to wrap my head around it. Nice work. Not that I’m a bug fan of dance shows or anything.

To sully, the dancers are faceless cause because that’s their uniform if you knoew anything about pop culture and who the Jabbwockeez are. #2) Less than one-second shots? What video are you watching? There’s no cuts in the dance sequences. The first sequence is like 12 seconds long itself. You can be negative but a least make sense. You just sound like an old, out of touch hater. Sorry. But the video is fresh as hell. Nice job.
