Gary Busey on Business

The videos were the idea of GotVMail’s co-founders, CEO Siamak Taghaddos and CTO David Hauser. They were shot in June in Los Angeles. GotVMail gave Busey some initial concepts and ideas and scripted some of the material, but many of the things you see are Busey’s improvisations. That was the beauty of the campaign, it would not have worked as well if Busey was not allowed to run with it.

For example: “Being a successful entrepreneur is 80 percent hard work and 50 percent luck — and having accountants that make the math work. Maybe someone who worked for Wesley Snipes.” We would never be able to come up with material like that!

They chose Gary Busey because the company’s mascot is named Gary. Busey doesn’t necessarily know anything about business or entrepreneurship, but his delivery makes the whole thing very fun to watch..!
